TaylorMade Stealth Fairway Wood
Having one or two reliable fairway woods in your bag has become an essential part of the modern game. Advancements in technology have made them far easier to use when compared to the fairway woods of yesteryear. They are also far more versatile and can be used as strong back up clubs on tight tee shots where good distance is still required, or to hit towering approaches to long par 4’s or par 5’s. TaylorMade have been industry leaders in the fairway wood category ever since the release of the RBZ range way back in 2012, and they are by far the most popular brand of fairway wood on all major professional golf tours.
The new TaylorMade Stealth range of fairway woods looks set to cement that status even further as they arrive on the market for the 2022 season. Offering beautifully sleek aesthetics and mind-blowing performance, the Stealth fairway woods feature a 3D Carbon Crown which has enabled TaylorMade engineers to pull mass away from the high toe area. This allows for more weight to be positioned towards the rear of the head to provide maximum forgiveness and playability.
The V Steel sole technology that was employed so successfully on the outgoing Sim 2 Max fairway wood has been redesigned to maintain optimal launch whilst improving turf interaction from the multitude of different lies your ball will find itself in throughout the course of a round. When placed behind the ball at address the slightly oversized 190cc clubhead in the 3-woods, and 165cc in the 5 & 7 woods provides a confidence inspiring profile.
New Advanced Laser Alignment technology provides a vital contrast between the face and the crown at address which serves to make the difficult task of aligning the clubface square a far simpler task. As with all TaylorMade fairway woods of recent years, the Stealth fairway features the Thru-Slot Speed Pocket which began the revolution in fairway wood design. This technology has been further enhanced with increased flexibility and provides a much welcome boost in ball speeds and forgiveness on low face strikes.
The TaylorMade Stealth Fairway Woods are the ideal combination of power and forgiveness and will be an extremely popular choice across all handicaps. If you are looking for a strong option for use from both the teeing ground and the fairway, then the TaylorMade Stealth Fairway Wood would be the perfect choice.

Cobra LTDx Max Fairway Wood
Cobra Golf has produced some fine fairway woods over the past few years with each one offering an enticing blend of power and forgiveness. Utilizing innovative technologies, they have managed to progress performance along at a steady rate with each new model improving over the previous one in impressive fashion. This season sees the release of the LTDx family of fairway woods and it would seem that Cobra has managed it once again.
Much like the range of drivers, the Cobra LTDx fairway wood collection has three different options to choose from, with each one offering distinctive features and benefits that will lend themselves to a certain type of golfer. The LTDx is their standard head and will suit the broadest range of handicaps and style of golf whilst the LTDx LS is a low spin offering that is more suited to the better golfer that produces higher club head speeds. The final option is the LTDx Max which is the most forgiving in the range and provides the most draw bias.
The Cobra LTDx Max fairway wood utilises the PWR-COR and H.O.T Face technology that was developed for the new driver range has been applied to the fairway woods with equal success. The H.O.T Face uses 15 different zones each with its own optimised thickness which produces industry leading ball speeds even on shots that have been badly mishit. The new Carbon Fibre crown has allowed the Cobra engineers to reposition weight to allow for a forward and low CG (Centre of Gravity) which increases ball speed at impact.
The Cobra LTDx Max fairway wood is the most forgiving option out of the three available and provides plenty of help to the golfer on off centre hits. It has a traditional shape that sits beautifully behind the ball at address with the carbon fibre crown framed nicely by non-intrusive graphics that run along both sides of the perimeter. On the sole of the head there is an adjustable weight system that consists of a 12g weight and a 3g weight which can drastically change the playing characteristics of the club. When the heavier weight is placed in the heel the LTDx Max will play with the maximum amount of draw bias, whilst when it is placed at the back of the head it will play at its most forgiving.
The sole of the 3-wood does not have the rails that are often found on Cobra fairway woods whereas the 5-wood and 7-wood do. Cobra believes that they are only beneficial when the swing becomes steeper in the more lofted woods as this is when turf interaction becomes more important. The Cobra LTDx Max fairway wood is another superb offering and sees this most innovative manufacturer continue their hot streak. If you are looking for a great looking all-round performer that provides the maximum amount of slice correction, then the Cobra LTDx Max fairway wood would be the ideal choice
