2025 TaylorMade P790
The TaylorMade P·790 has been one of the greatest success stories the golf industry has ever seen. Ever since their initial releasde back in 2017, they have been the best selling iron across every single golf iron category. With an enticing mixture of power, precision and aesthetic appeal, they have been bought and enjoyed by golfers across the full handicap spectrum. One of the more challenging aspects of creating a product so universally well received is improving on it when the time comes for an updated model. The 2025 version is the 5th iteration of this iconic golf iron from TaylorMade and despite the aforementioned problems, TaylorMade have once again managed to make a fantastic product even better.
The internal structure of every P·790 iron was uniquely designed with AI-driven mass optimisation, ensuring every gram of weight was strategically placed to deliver the best possible result with that specific iron. The most notable visual difference from one iron to the next is the sound stabilisation bar, which sits above the tungsten weight framework. Located in the three through seven irons, each bar is uniquely shaped and positioned to individually optimise feel and performance by controlling the amount of unsupported space between the internal structure and the topline of the club. The design minimises unwanted vibrations at impact and ensures that every iron creates a premium forged feel with optimal CG placement.
In the long irons, the sound stabilisation bar moves more toward the centre of the club while the tungsten weight frame is positioned nearer to the sole. Mass distribution is specifically arranged to lower the centre of gravity, making it easier to launch the golf ball high with low- lofted irons. Compared to prior generations of P·790 irons, a larger face opening gave engineers more space to push tungsten weights farther towards the toe. In conjunction with a thick-thin back wall that creates additional mass savings, this new construction allows for a shift in mass that’s designed to produce more consistency throughout the set.
Moving weight lower and towards the perimeter of the club further allowed engineers to design for improved forgiveness and control CG positioning. Within the scoring clubs (8-PW), CG progressively shifts higher for more control, better spin properties and enhanced accuracy.
REVOLUTIONARY FORGED FEEL
Substantially improved feel was a key focus when designing the 2025 P·790. Individual head optimisation and modal analysis tools paired with SpeedFoam™ Air create best in class forged feel with an explosive sensation at impact.
MORE SPEED, MORE CONSISTENTLY
The 2025 P790 debuts an all new ultra high strength, high speed forged face material (4340M) that is 20% stronger than previous generations. 4340M’s increased strength unlocks a thinner face and faster ball speeds while simultaneously increasing thesweet spot size by up to 24% when compared to the 2023 P790 version.
INCREASED DISTANCE WITH IMPROVED GAPPING
A faster 4340M face, individual head optimisation, and FLTD CG™ for precise centre of gravity (CG) positioning generates increased carry distances with optimal launch andspin windows for better gapping through the set.
FLTD CG
New for 2025, an even lower CG in the long irons enhances launch and playability, while a higher CG is designed to improve spin rates and control in the scoring clubs. FLTD CG designs strategically position the center of gravity lowest in the long irons and progressively shifts higher for optimal launch and spin windows throughout the set.
SHAPED FOR ELEGANT PERFORMANCE
The all new P·790 has been upgraded with a thinner topline for a cleaner look in the playing position, and an increased sole radius with progressive leading edge designed for consistent turf interaction and an improved impact location.
JPX925 Hot Metal Pro
For the first time, the JPX Hot Metal family introduces multi-material construction, enhancing the performance of Nickel Chromoly with strategically placed tungsten to deliver a higher launch and steeper landing angles for pinpoint iron precision rarely found in distance-oriented designs.
The irons feature a CORTECH design with a Contour Ellipse Face, marking a significant leap forward with a multi-thickness face profile that is 30% thinner than its predecessor. This innovation enhances centre ball speed and ensures maximum speed retention throughout the impact zone.
In addition, the multi-material construction, incorporating tungsten weighting in the 4-7 irons, positions the weight low to facilitate a higher launch and lower sweet spot. This design produces a steeper landing angle, optimising playability and control.
The JPX925 Hot Metal Irons also benefit from the inclusion of Chromoly 4140M, a high-strength material known for its excellent strength-to-weight ratio and malleability. This allows for a high-strength face with a pliable hosel for precise fitting.
The seamless one-piece cup face geometry, with thinned areas around the perimeter, helps to maximise the rebound area for unparalleled ball speed across the entire face. Additionally, a variable sole thickness enhances the overall face flex area, contributing to increased CORAREA (Coefficient of Restitution). This, combined with a balanced stability frame, improves control while maintaining forgiveness, producing a tour-preferred vibration and sound.
Mizuno’s Harmonic Impact Technology, featuring meticulously fine-tuned head geometry, delivers an ideal feel and feedback at impact. Meanwhile, Acoustic Sound Ribs ensure precisely calibrated vibration patterns for a solid, explosive impact sound.
Rounding out the exceptional design of the JPX925 Hot Metal Irons is the White Satin Brush Finish. This modern, elegant finish is both durable and non-glare, ensuring that the irons not only perform brilliantly but also look the part.
Callaway APEX Ai200 & Ai300
Apex Ai300 Irons are meticulously designed for pure feel, power, and consistency. These elegant cavity-back designs feature a slightly larger profile that blends performance and forgiveness in our most complete game-improvement iron, delivering performance that stands alone.
A forged cavity-back design combined with a forged 455 face creates a Tour-level sound and feel. This advanced forged construction is coupled with a stunning, premium design that will captivate you more than ever before.
Besides the enhanced feel, the Forged 455 Face Cup delivers outstanding power across the face. This unique combination of power and feel separates the Apex Ai300 from the rest.
The Apex Ai300 achieves incredible consistency through the Ai Smart Face. The Ai Smart Face generates outstanding speed and spin consistency with tight dispersion into greens using real golfer swing data combined with artificial intelligence.
Strategically positioned MIM weighting ensures the optimal CG for your best launch windows. The Dynamic Sole Design ensures enhanced turf interaction to provide more forgiveness through the turf.
Srixon ZXi range
All-new ZXi5 Irons represent our most potent blend of power, playability, and ultra-sharp looks. Our revolutionary i-FORGED process, combined with the latest Srixon ball speed and distance technologies, gives ZXi5 Irons unprecedented feel, speed, and power on every shot.
ZXi5 Irons benefits from i-FORGED technology. Condensed Forging stretching from the high-toe area and along the topline of the Iron blade enhances overall strength, durability, and feel. Then the forged faces on ZXi5 are softened to improve this already exceptional feel.
MainFrame saves additional weight and adds more MOI through an enhanced network of milled channels on the back side of the Iron face. At impact, this system amplifies ball speed and adds forgiveness.
Srixon’s Tour V.T. Soles proprietary combination of sole widths, bounce angles, and notches to ensure a smooth glide through fairway, rough, and sand without any loss of speed.
The 3i-7i feature wider grooves, while the 8i-AW have deeper, closer-set grooves to ensure consistent spin across the set. Laser milling between each groove, on every loft, enhances adds bite on every strike.
ZXi5 features a slightly wider sole with moderate blade length and offset, giving attuned golfers enhanced distance, forgiveness, and workabilityall with an ultra-clean look at address.
